This nomination comes to you to recognize an individual who goes above and beyond not only for her department but most of all her patients. Patricia Ibarra, RN is a compassionate, committed, and a respectable individual. With every encounter, she provides exemplary care and concern for her patients. Taking the necessary time needed to reassure her patients that they are getting the best treatment possible explaining each step of the way. Her nurturing personality allows not only patients, but fellow colleagues to approach her for assistance and guidance.
Patricia has been a dedicated individual to the General Surgery department, always offering assistance before being asked. On many occasions Patricia has stepped into a challenging situation to assist her team while maintaining a positive attitude for the benefit of that patient and team morale. Her innovative thinking and leadership are shown consistently during our monthly UBT meetings and weekly huddles. Kaiser Permanente has many outstanding nurses who deserve to be recognized for extraordinary care, but for us it is Patricia Ibarra. I can continue to write about my experiences with Patricia, but to truly know the impact that she has on our department and patients I would like to share with you only a few examples from our Huddle "snap cup" (Recognition cup) and patient recognitions.

"Ms. Patricia, has not only assisted with her expertise of wound care, but she has lifted my spirits at each visit! She is a wonderful nurse and a great person."
"Patricia thank you for working towards preventing a patient from having a stroke and taking the patient to the ER."
"Three patients checked in within a short time, one was late, one was early, and one on time. Patients were seen on a timely manner; Patricia came to the rescue, excellent team work."
I feel blessed to work with Patricia and I am proud of the work, pride love, and compassion she depicts with every individual that she encounters. Patricia Ibarra deserves to be recognized for the DAISY Award because she truly lives a life of extraordinary service.
