Patrick Johnson always has a smile on his face and his actions seem to soothe the most difficult patients or family members. It is evident that God is put first in Patrick's life before all else, even if this means criticism. He is a role model for our CORE values and is a leader with integrity. He is always calm and collected, goes the extra mile, and even works in different departments if needed.
Patrick is the first to recognize an individual or department for their performance and teamwork. He always gives us support and is an excellent resource. He is an inspiration to all departments as we watch him remain calm in situations that can take a toll on the rest of us.
Patrick is always positive and points out the silver lining, reminding us that we are here for our patients and they come first. We have watched him take his own money to buy food and clothes for the homeless, he gives from his heart never complaining or asking for anything in return. He has taken patient assignments when staffing has been critical, again reminding all of us why we are here.
Of all the kindness and compassion, the one thing that stands out for me most is Patrick's humble attitude when things go wrong. We don't like to mention the times that we have not shined or have not been excellent, but we are human and I have never seen him shy away from these situations. He is the first to offer his apologies for things not turning out the way we would like. This type of courage and compassion is the reason that we all put our trust in Patrick and realize that he will always choose to do the right thing no matter how difficult. We have all heard that actions speak louder than words and Patrick is a man of action.
King David was noted as a man after God's own heart and long before this nomination existed that is exactly how I have described Patrick to my family. He is our 21st century David, a man after God's own heart. Congratulations Patrick!
