Our first-time meeting Paula was at the car seat safety class about a month before we delivered our baby. We are so thankful that you offer the classes that you do. Lori and Paula are amazing members of your staff and we felt so much more prepared to care for our baby after being trained by them and all the outstanding nurses on your staff. It is because of Lori and Paula's instruction at the hospital that I did not have engorgement and my breastfeeding experience has been super positive. At our first pediatric appointment, our baby girl was almost back to her birth weight at just 5 days old. I did not supplement once with formula She gained all her weight back because of the immediate skin-to-skin and then the excellent breastfeeding training I received from Lori and Paula.
Not only was Paula excellent in breastfeeding instruction, but she was incredible with our newborn daughter. We still wear the cute little hat she made for us. Paula would show us and then take the time to explain how to do things instead of just doing them. She taught us how to use the emery boards on tiny nails, how to efficiently swaddle, proper latching, how to look for nutritive sucking, advice on relieving soreness from nursing, how to calm a screaming baby, so on and so forth. Paula was attentive, caring, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and our hero of the week.
