I am a first-time mom and I confess I had absolutely no idea how difficult this labor, delivery and recovery process would be. After giving birth to J, I was wheeled to the recovery unit, and that's where I first met Rachel. From our very first interaction, she was a gift to our little family. She came into the room with a smile, everything about her presence was calming and she took such great care of us. I felt like she struck a perfect balance of caring for me and our son.

Here are a few things we loved about Rachel:
She struck an incredible balance between being professional, kind, generous and fun. She took care of us medically and I always felt I was in good hands. When I asked questions she responded without making me feel dumb and explained things in a way I could understand. Yet she was also so kind she was so sweet telling us how great our baby looked, talking to him, and always asking if there was anything else she could do for me. And she made us laugh. The idea of needing an ice diaper is mortifying and she came in brandishing the diaper raising it up and singing like it was a prized possession. It brought laughter and relief into the room. She is a champ swaddler. She would swaddle J and hand us our burrito baby and he would be so peaceful and we were so amazed. IF there was an award just for swaddling I would give that to her as well. I know Rachel can't read minds but she did such an amazing job anticipating my needs. I felt she always asked the right questions. I also felt she was excellent at balancing when she checked on me and blended in so beautifully when we had visitors. So, to Rachel from our little family, we are forever grateful. Thank you.
