Rebekah arrives every single day ready to lead the team and communicate with patients and their families. She is always ready to jump in and help others when needed. Her attitude is one of a go-getter and a motivational leader.
Rebekah pays attention to detail in assessing patients. Especially those patients in need. In the past, she has led the team to contribute a basket filled with baby care supplies and clothes to a single mother who was here with her infant for a surgical procedure. She has a sense for those who are less fortunate and in need of assistance.
Most recently a homeless man arrived for surgery and was soaking wet from the rain as he had walked to the facility. His clothes and shoes were dirty and tattered. Rebekah initiated collecting money so she could go to Wal-Mart and buy the patient some new clothes and shoes. Word spread quickly through the department, resulting in everyone contributing money.
With all the contributions, of over $200, the team was able to provide the gentleman with a new coat, hat, shoes, socks, underwear, insulated underwear, two pairs of pants, shirts, a hoodie, a backpack, and other assorted items which he desperately needed.
I am personally touched by the caring and generosity of Rebekah and our team. No matter what is going on both personally or professionally, we never lose sight of those in need and less fortunate than ourselves.
The patient's reaction when given these items was one of thankfulness and gratitude.
