Gina has only been with us since January 2017, but has made quite an impact with her knowledge and caring spirit. She has several years of GI experience, but was concerned about learning how to work with a new group of patients; cardiac cath lab patients that the Endo RN's admit and recover. As evidenced by the story below, she has not only mastered cardiac care, but caring for the heart. Nursing is an art and science, but it is the art of nursing that connects us to our patients. Gina extended herself to this patient in order to see her through this episode of care up to and including discharge.
Her patient wrote her the following:
I want to thank you again for the extraordinary care I received yesterday from you. As you can imagine it's a bit scary thinking about someone inserting catheters into your veins and seeing this thing going into your heart! Every step of the way I felt in very good hands, first God's, then yours and the rest of the medical staff. I know you'll probably say, "I was just doing my job." Yes, that's true, but I felt you went above and beyond.
When I saw your last name I thought, "I knew she was a Saint!"
