I received a phone call from a very close friend that her daughter had attempted to hurt herself and was on the way to the Emergency Room with her father. Upon arrival to the ER, the patient refused to get out of her father's truck to get medical help. I was called and immediately went to Renee for assistance. Renee came out to the truck and very calmly spoke to the patient. After 10 minutes of demonstrating a caring and patient, but firm, approach, Renee convinced the young girl to let us help her.
While in the ER, Renee displayed compassion for the patient's situation by allowing her parents to stay by her side and always keeping the patient's safety in mind. The mother commented several times on how great Renee was in handling her daughter's situation with gentleness and respect. The parents are convinced that Renee saved their daughter's life by convincing her to get out of that truck.
