Rick was nominated for his outstanding care and comfort provided during a patient's scary seizure-like episodes. The patient was blown away at Rick's ability to keep her calm while also mentoring a student.
"Rick has treated my episodes in a manner so proactive, prepared, professional, caring and compassionate that he stands miles above others," the patient wrote in a nomination letter. "My episodes typically last 30 minutes and when I'd be able to open my eyes he would say: 'I'm right here, I won't leave' - giving me the peace, reassurance, and safety I needed."
"He was a fantastic, encouraging and always positive instructor, just like he is as an RN!" she said. "I have never met a person of any profession more deserving of an award than Rick. He is simply an outstanding RN. He works with such competency, fluency, organization and proactiveness."
