Well, here I am signing my discharge papers for home health care today. I have never been sick or had surgery but that all changed. Long story short, I had received a wound vac for a deep gaping hole I had in my back from surgery. It needed changing every two days. Because of my speedy healing, it was an extremely painful process! I had two nurses, but Rita was with me the most. She was patient with me. She was kind and truly compassionate.
When she was removing the sponge from the back, she would talk me through every second because it was attaching itself to me. Horrible pain. I felt safe and comfortable with Rita. She always gave me peace of mind. Any questions I had she always answered via text or phone calls. She went above and beyond for me. There was skin graft involved as well, taken from my leg. She got me through that as well!
