Ryan is extraordinary. He is all those words that describe a great nurse: kind, compassionate, team player, smart, and hard working. Ryan goes above and beyond every day that he is at work. All patients love him. He bonds with each patient and makes them feel that they are the most important and only focus he has that day. He sits at the bedside and talks with them. He explains why he is doing something or what the doctor was talking about. Patients and their family members feel special when he is caring for them. Just as much as he cares for the patients, he also does the same for his co-workers. No task is too big or too dirty! He has your back and helps. He is calm and focused in the crazy world of the ER. I don't think I have ever witnessed him panicking or overwhelmed no matter how bad the trauma. He is so smart but still not afraid to ask questions if he doesn't know the answer himself. He is what I envision when I think of a DAISY nurse. I know he is destined to do great things.

I am a student at Gulf Coast and had my ER day last week and felt Ryan really tried to teach me different things. He took the time to show me a plastic cup IV insertion since I had just started learning IVs. He even took the time to find patients who I could practice on. A lot of the other RNs asked for his help during his shift and he always helped even though it put him behind on paperwork. Regular patients also seemed to like him.

My son came in by ambulance with a broken arm. Ryan was by my son's side the entire time. He is truly amazing!
