Sally Determan is the strategist for Capacity Management whose passion for nursing and patients is demonstrated through her clinical expertise and leadership to the Capacity Management Solution suite and for Command Center Dashboard. Sally is quickly able to shift gears based on business and client needs, thinking out-of-the box to drive changes aligned with clinical perspectives and solution performance. She collaborates with the Cap management development team on launching CareAware Patient Flow directly from PowerChart and is working to enhance CareView to include information collected in PowerChart around barriers to discharge. Her insights help to support our client's management capacity and LOS. After a recent presentation, Sally received a message back from the Cerner EL, "That was a GREAT demo!! You showed the functionality, handled MCHs questions, and also addressed the future."
Sally demonstrates her commitment to Cerner success and excellence in her daily work. She recently (April 13 and 14) developed, launched, and lead the first of kind training for a new Cerner solution - CareAware Transfer Center to Mission Health. Through her collaborative efforts she was able to provide training to our development partners at Mission in preparation for their go-live in May 23, 2016 with Cerner's new solution, CareAware Transfer Center.
Sally is also the clinical strategist for the Command Center (CC) dashboard working with the Pop Health team. Sally is instrumental with several aspects of Command Center throughout the year such as providing input on developing widgets, challenging SD on the components of CC, and interpreting client feedback into the appropriate widget/gadget. Through Sally's expertise in working with the IP development and UX teams she brought to life the strategic vision of the Command Center Dashboard. Sally partnered with the UX team to gain feedback on the strategic design and used the feedback gathered from those tests to make alterations to it. The CC solution transitioned from a design concept in 2015 to one that has several widgets coded by 2016. Often Sally stimulates thought on the possibilities and innovation between teams to guide and prompt SD on concepts and design ideas to meet the value objectives for solution.
Additionally, Sally demonstrates the ability to connect solutions internally and thinks of the bigger picture of Hospital Operations. She advocates for breaking down silos of operation internally and externally with clients. Sally is leading the first annual Hospital Operations boot camp which brings together clients using CareAware Capacity Management Solution Suite and Cerner Clairvia Solution Suite solutions.
Sally is an exemplary nurse within Cerner who unselfishly uses her passion for excellence in patient care, knowledge of nursing informatics, and integrity to do what is right for Cerner, Nursing, and Patients.
