Sally King is a pillar of strength when I get chemotherapy treatments and other injections. It goes without saying that she is competent, conscientious, caring and responsive to my needs, even to my whims. She is attentive to a fault.
IV infusions were becoming more and more difficult for me, and that is when Sally started to exert gentle pressure. She softly but with determination urged me to move from frequent IV's and have a port inserted. I had been rejecting that development for several years, but she said it would be much easier on me. To support her recommendation she asked, "Have you ever seen a port?" I had not, so she brought me an actual port and fully explained how it worked, how the insertion would be handled, even explained how it could be removed. Then she took me to another patient who had a port and asked her to discuss her positive attitude towards having a port. Sally continued to promote the benefits of a port and, as it turns out, Sally was right on! Based on Sally's effective and thorough proposal, I now have a port. Treatments are much easier! Sally is an excellent nurse, but she is also a friend and confidant, she gives me hope and confidence, and in this particular case, she is also a nursing educator.

Sally made me at ease during chemo treatments. She is a skilled, caring professional.

Sally always makes me feel relaxed during my chemotherapy treatments. She is very caring and skilled at IV's and knowledgeable. It is so difficult to go through cancer and the treatments but I am confident in my care when Sally is my nurse and it makes my day a lot better. I have been going through treatments for 4 years. It is very discouraging but Sally gives me encouragement.

She took my hand and held it on my first chemo. Talked to me, took me through what we were doing to take my mind off of the chemo treatment. She has made every treatment easy for me. She has made coming to get chemo positive and made me look forward to coming to get chemo! She has been like a mother figure and took me under her wing. Brings tears to my eyes to think how well this at one time stranger took such good care of me. Always saying I'm the patient and deserve the best, well, she deserves the best too. Honestly, I wish everyone who had to go through this got Sally as their nurse. God Bless Sally for the person she is, for God has chosen her to be a nurse.

She is a wonderful person who has taken the best care of me. She helped me with my chemo treatments. The first was the hardest and she went above and beyond to make me more comfortable (like she always does) she talked through the whole process and explained everything, step by step. She talks to me about good things while she was giving me the actual chemo that I was afraid of and after said, "that wasn't so bad, huh?" I thought, "wow, it's over and I totally forgot about it." She made it a lot easier and better for me. She always makes me smile when I am at my hardest times and always takes such good care of me. She is an angel born to be a nurse. She is amazing and I will never forget her. Thankful for the opportunity to have met such an amazing person!
