Hospitalization is scary, the unknown is scary, but the excellence of care and compassion I received during my stay at St. Mary's has gone above and beyond my expectations, I could have been bestowed. As I laid in the bed thinking about everything, I prayed, "if miracles exist please send me one" and at that moment walked in Sarah. I couldn't leave my room, didn't have any visitors, just my T. Sarah took time to visit, talk made sure I had everything I needed. After a few days of laying in the same dirty, sweaty, stinky clothes, Sarah came in with as much hospital care products as she could find to help me feel a little cleaner. I couldn't leave to shower or clean up. On my discharge day, I thought Sarah had left, surprised to see her walk back into my room a couple hours later carrying bags from Walmart. She went shopping for me! She bought me 4 tank tops, a hoodie, 3 pairs of jeggings, tops, and briefs. Not to mention skin care products and hairbrush. Of course, we hugged and cried together. That was totally unexpected and I have found a forever friend. I prayed for a miracle and she walked into my room in the form of a nurse name Sarah. She will always be my DAISY. She truly deserves recognition for her pure and caring soul.

I am writing this to tell you about Sarah who is a Float RN B shift. I have never met her or worked with her. I work A shift as a CNA on 3 South and that is where Sarah was working recently. I saw Sarah but didn't speak with her, but around 9 am I saw her walking down the hall and joked with her about isn't she ever going home. She stopped to talk to me a minute and told me she had gone down to a patient's room that she had formed a bond with. They were both smokers and the patient told Sarah she wishes someone would have tried to talk her out of smoking. Sarah told me how she now wearing the patch to try and quit. Here is what brought tears to my eyes. The patient said she didn't have any clothes to go home in, so Sarah went out and bought her some. Sarah is a true DAISY Nurse.
