Seth Whitlow- Cardiothoracic ICU

1.) We are nominating nurse Seth for his extraordinary nursing skills while caring for my boyfriend. Seth performed above and beyond expectations. He made my boyfriend feel comfortable here in the hospital and was there for everyone one of his needs. Before every injection/pill, Seth gave a thorough explanation of what it was for and how much of the medicine he was giving. Seth was always checking up on him. I could tell that he was worried and that he wanted everything to go right. He wanted nothing else but the best for him. Seth was very professional when it came to my boyfriend's privacy. He was very comforting and reassuring.

2.) Whenever we paged him, he was there. Whenever we had a question, he answered to the best of his ability. When the pain medication didn't work, he would ask the doctors for something else to give me. Its nurses like Seth that makes the hospital experience less difficult and sad. He really cared that things got done for me. There was a time when the physical therapist didn't come through for me, but he made sure they did come the next day. I don't like being poked with needles, but Seth took his time to find a good vein from which to draw blood from. He made this process quick and pain free. Another thing that made Nurse Seth stand out was his personality. His personality was great! Some previous nurses didn't want to interact or bond with me, but not nurse Seth. He was great all-around. He even took the time to ask about how I got here. He was great with my girlfriend and mother too. He made sure that she was okay and comfortable. He was a great supporter. He asked the doctor why my heart rate was 151 and why I was burning up. He even went looking for my girlfriend to tell her the good news about my blood count! No more blood transfusions! We were privileged enough to have Nurse Seth twice during my stay at the ICU. Nurse Seth's compassion and dedication was a booster for me. He was lively and energetic, informative and caring. He was on time and ready to go whenever I needed my medicine. He even said "Bye" when he left and told us who our next nurse was and a little bit about her. Nurse Seth is definitely an over-achiever in his field and enjoys what he does. He really made a positive impact on my long road back to health. Thank you Nurse Seth! You’re grrrrrreat!!!!!
