I am writing to recognize Shelley Goldman for the absolute most phenomenal care and support anyone can provide. I should have done this years ago. Shelley has been my son's care manager for many years. I cannot begin to express all the many things she has done and gone above and beyond for my child and my family. I could list a thousand things she has done. My son is a very complex case with many chronic illnesses. Many times it is very difficult to figure out what is going on with him, how to help him and how to manage his care. Shelley is always there and really understands my child. She has helped in providing ways to keep him and myself calm and handle emergencies and his daily care. She has helped facilitate communication between his doctors when things get bad and we need someone to help get the doctors working together. My son has grown to trust Shelley and when others can't get through to him she can. He knows she has his back and is looking out for him. In times when he is really sick, this is critical. There could not be a better person or employee in this position. She has provided guidance and support for school issues. She is always educating us and providing information on situations that occur. She brainstorms for coping skills to help him and reminds me of ways to help him and handle him and situations. Without her, I do not feel my son or myself would be where we are today. He was able to graduate from high school and now attends college. She is a major reason this has happened. There is absolutely no doubt that she cares about my son and only wants the best for him. Many times I become overwhelmed and she calms me down and helps me to figure things out. I have to hide my feelings to my son to keep his anxiety under control and she allows me to express what I am feeling. At times I have no idea what to do and she is always able to help me. I cannot express the feeling of comfort I have knowing I have her to assist and to be there. Numerous times she has thought of things to help or other resources I never would have thought of, many times these things helped prevent an emergency or worsening of his condition. I could go on for pages but hopefully, this gives you an idea of the absolute wonderful care she provides and the person she is. I cannot begin to express the compassion and professionalism she always provides. I wanted to let others know the phenomenal care she provides and hopefully, she could be recognized for this.
