“ I nominate Tami Wakeley, RN and Sherri McLean, RN as deserving recipients of the DAISY Awards.

Tami put me at such ease and made me laugh and feel ok about leaving my baby in the NICU. The day after I was released, she saw me while I was on the way to visit my son and stopped me and gave me a hug. She truly cared about how I was coping. I was in such a sad mood and she brightened my day. So, thank you Tami for truly caring about your patients. It felt great to not be just another patient, but to be made to feel so special. I will forever be grateful.

On my son’s fifth day of life, an angel named Sherri McLean came into our lives. I was told some news that was upsetting and she took the time to meet my needs. When we had my minister come in for a baptism, she pulled the privacy curtains and offered to take some pictures to remember this special occasion. She went well above and beyond what I ever expected from my son’s nurses. She has such a comforting ease about her that makes her feel more like a loved one than someone you just met. She took time out of her busy schedule to answer my questions, and they were plentiful.

During both my hospital stay and my son’s stay in NICU, I have never met more compassionate people than I have over the past few days. We both received such great care. There were many nurses and doctors that I also felt this way about, so I applaud both departments for their exceptional care that they provided to us. It makes me disappointed that I had my tubes tied, but I know all the lives that these individuals touch will be better because of it.”

Thank you for your time,
Kristy & Kayleb Kaminski and Family
