My husband was a patient for 8 days. He received excellent attention and medical care from the entire nursing staff. However, one nurse exemplified exceptional care and compassion as well as great skill - Skye Mann, RN. She was always a bright ray of joy to my husband! Her caring attitude and friendly smile always lifted his spirits no matter what he was experiencing at the time.

My dad was transferred by ambulance from Mercy Rogers to Springfield for more advanced care. In the past 8 days we have seen that; not only has the doctor's care been advanced but the nursing staff is advanced as well. We especially experienced this in Skye Mann, RN. She was the night nurse for my dad and truly the bright spot of every day even though it started at 7 pm. Skye consistently impressed us with her depth of medical knowledge and skill, and her administrative understanding. She had a winsome presence and a radiant smile every single time she entered dad's room. I watched Skye literally change the disposition of dad's day simply by the way she came onto the scene at the end of the day.
Despite the obvious demands on her schedule, her demeanor always communicated that she was not in a hurry but was genuinely interested in getting to know my dad. At times she even seemed reluctant to leave. Skye was anxious to hear and understand the questions or concerns dad and all of us had; she was equally eager to accommodate us in any way possible. She truly has exceptional people skills. She gains and maintains eye contact when she is talking to ensure successful communication, and she pauses to watch it "all sink in".
My folks and I agree that while many people can learn a job well and perform duties with precision, these academic disciplines do not necessarily make a great nurse. Great nurses are called and anointed by God, and I wish for you the blessing of meeting one such nurse. Her name is Skye Mann.
