Stephanie Veibl has been my son's nurse several times. Of all the RNs she demonstrates the true meaning of a patient advocate. She was professional but not a robot. She gave my son excellent care, always responded in a reasonable time when asked for and showed her excellence in every possible aspect. She explained his illness to him, made sure he was comfortable, displayed a caring attitude and never acted like she was too busy to help him or explain something we didn't understand.
Every concern that was brought up to Stephanie, she promptly addressed it, made sure it was documented and took action to solve the issue immediately, she showed compassion by listening intently to my son's worries and problems. She talked with him in a caring manner and never acted as though his needs were bothersome or not important. Knowledge was evident with her explanations of all aspects of his care.
Above all, Stephanie performed her duties with a very pleasant attitude and always a smile on her face. She always put our worries and concerns to rest. My son and I did not have to wonder if a request or need was truly going to be taken care of. Even on nights when she was under severe stress with other difficult patients, she remained calm and never became or appeared to be stressed out or overwhelmed.
Stephanie's attitude exemplifies what she became a nurse for. A person can tell when someone is committed to their job. Stephanie is committed, she is truly an asset to HRMC and most definitely to her patients and family members. It is so apparent she loves her job, she cares about her patients and goes above and beyond any other nurse I've witnessed caring for my son. I believe she truly fulfills the nomination criteria for The Daisy Award. As a side note, I myself possess a nursing license and I know what it takes to be an RN. Stephanie has what it takes and exudes the love of her job and patients completely.
