My late husband, R, was diagnosed with CHF. Because he was only in his early thirties, we were completely and utterly blindsided by this news.
So, we immersed ourselves in the quest to find out more about the condition and started to utilize the BusinessCenter at downtown MeritCare. We felt quite lost until Sue stepped in and helped us. She went above and beyond; not only did Sue provide information and resources for CHF, but she also provided a remarkable and extremely compassionate shoulder to cry on.
But R and I were not unique in receiving Sue's amazing help; her knowledge, guidance, and caring have been showered upon many, many visitors and patients using the Center facilities. I still visit the Center very often, and I'm always touched by Sue's compassion. Her knowledge and guidance have helped so many of us family members, immeasurably.
When R died, and I revisited the Center for the first time after his death, it was Sue who rushed in and helped me. Once again, Sue showed such empathy, compassion, and caring that it's actually difficult to put into words how much it helped me cope, and still helps me to this day.
Suellen exemplifies everything that is MeritCare: compassionate care, guidance, and excellence.
