Sue is an extraordinary nurse to work with. I work with her closely once a week in the Dermatology clinic at CMS. She is always enthusiastic and has a positive outlook and is an extremely humble hard worker. She always has a positive friendly attitude which is infectious to those who interact with her (including staff, families, and patients). Sue is extremely bright and does an excellent job while working with me educating families about their dermatologic treatment regimens that I prescribe. She is also extremely empathic to patient/family concerns which often include addressing patient fears of procedures or new situations and costs of clinic visits or medications. An example of one of Sue's many memorable patient interactions was one of my preteens that I follow for warts who receives uncomfortable cryotherapy treatments. She always wants Sue to be her nurse during her visits since she is so nurturing and reassuring. This patient went out of her way to give Sue a Valentine for Valentine's Day since she has made such an impact on this girl (note-I am her doctor and I have a great relationship with this child, but I did not get one!). Sue is very deserving of this DAISY award.

Sue Martin is an extraordinary nurse. She works in the ENT and Dermatology clinics at the CMS location. She is not only wonderful with her patients, but she is an amazing co-worker. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm for her work and her patient's is contagious. She also has an exceptional knowledge base. Mix those qualities with Sue's compassionate nature and you have as close to a perfect nurse as you can get. Sue works tirelessly to address the questions and concerns of her families, particularly considering the quantity of calls that come to the ENT clinic. The same is true for her families in the Dermatology Clinic. Sue's families know she cares about them. Sue works with the parents of many children with hemangiomas and other vascular malformations. She always displays unconditional acceptance and lets the parents know that she thinks their baby is the most beautiful baby in the world. In the fast paced clinic setting, it can sometimes be difficult to establish those close, nurturing relationships with our patients. Sue does this with ease!! Working with Sue is a pure joy!!!
