Cath Lab was performing an emergency procedure in the Hybrid Room after hours on a Friday evening and they were paged for a STEMI being air carried in. The procedure was near completion so three out of four staff left to prepare for the STEMI, while an RN stayed back with the MD and patient.
The Cath Lab RN went to get a CVU bed while the MD stayed with the patient. Suzanne was in the hall and leaving from her shift. She asked if she could help and brought the bed over and stayed with the patient and the MD so the Cath Lab RN could leave to take care of the STEMI patient.
Suzanne helped get the patient from the procedure table to the bed and assisted with the transport to CVU. Working closely with the CVU, she is always willing to go above and beyond. She was walking out the door, but volunteered to help to do what's best for the patient!
Cath Lab greatly appreciated Suzanne's help! That is what the MERCY MISSION is about!
