I want to send out a thank you to our amazing, strong team. We had an extremely challenging day on Wednesday (hands down the worst shift I've had to work) and every single one of you stepped up and helped each other (and me) survive the chaos. At one point we had a code grey situation happening with a patient being put in 5 point restraints simultaneously occuring with two complicated patients escalating each other with threats of violence. It was not fun, extremely difficult, and you all powered through.
Laurie, Sean, Yuliana, Aaron, Erin, Jennifer A, Cho, Moony, Christina, and Michelle L - each and every one of you had challenges with some of your patients and you all helped each other out while I was impossibly unavailable with a difficult and complex patient. I cannot even begin to list each and every way you all stepped up to the plate and I am eternally grateful.
Shavon (float pool HUC) was a life saver in managing the floor and phones while I was really tied up. She jumped in and helped filter patient, nursing, and staffing needs and is amazing.
I couldn't have had a better PSA than Rehema (RN float pool), who helped out tremendously with my patient. Phai and Justin (also float pool) also were very helpful with assisting this patient to CT and then back into 5 point restraints when she managed to get out of her soft restraints. I would also like to thank Jennifer Thompsen (float pool NAC) for her patience and excellent work with this patient and her challenging family before she was transported to Cherry Hill.
I can't thank our security team enough for helping keep our patient and our staff safe during a couple of really difficult 5 point restraint situations.
I would also like to thank the nursing supervisors and the ICU/IMCU charges who helped keep eyes on this patient and advocate that she get a bed at Cherry Hill Neuro.
Diane and Janel, as always thanks for your support and can you please reach out to the float pool, security, ICU, and nursing supervisors to let them know my gratitude. I am not sure who manages each department.
