Taylor Frazier was born to be a nurse. In everything that she does for every one of her patients, she embodies what it truly means to be a nurse. Her compassion and caring for her patients comes through in each interaction. She is often seen hugging her patients and families goodbye upon discharge. She is the first to respond to anyone in need, in an emergency she is the best, I mean absolutely BEST recorder you've ever seen. When a patient is in distress, you can always find Taylor kneeling next to the bed, holding their hand and speaking calmly and slowly to help them get through the crisis. She is an asset to our unit, our organization and to the nursing profession.
One day, in particular, Taylor made an impression in one family's life that won't soon be forgotten. Her patient was admitted to 3 N with two loving daughters present at the bedside. They reported that her surgery had taken significantly longer than expected and they were all exhausted. When her husband arrived on the floor he reportedly began feeling ill, having chest pain and difficulty breathing. The staff responded quickly and swiftly got her husband to the Emergency Room where we identified that he was having an NSTEMI. He was taken to the Cath Lab and then CVICU. Expectedly, her patient was quite nervous and concerned for her husband. Taylor empathetically and compassionately kept her informed, reassured her that her husband was in good hands and once it was appropriate made arrangements for her to go to CVICU to visit with him. She stated, "Taylor was an angel. We bonded immediately. What I remember the most about Taylor was her personality, she has such a bubbly personality and that really helps when you are stressed. She is such a sweet girl and extremely nice.
