Tiffany provided excellent care to our mother. Mom was in the hospital for an undiagnosed liquid in the lungs. We weren't getting updates on her conditions from her doctors or the hospital. Beyond frustrated, we decided to sit in our mom's room until we got answers. It was our good fortune that Mom's nurse was Tiffany Ramsey that day. Every time she entered the room we peppered her with questions. She calmly answered every concern and explained our options. She told us when each of Mom's doctors were doing their rounds and got them to specifically step in to see us. Mom's oncologist had only been consulted so he was not going to be coming on rounds. Tiffany called and got him to call us at a specific time (to his credit he came to Mom's room to speak with us). In one amazing day we went from uneducated frustration to knowledge and understanding all because of Tiffany. Most of our problem was we didn't know what it meant when Mom said she wanted hospice. We wanted a diagnosis and a plan to make her well. Tiffany explained why that wasn't how hospice worked.
We brought Mom home to hospice care and she passed on April 12 surrounded by her family.
Tiffany helped Mom's family that day but never for a moment reduced the care and patience to Mom. Her patients are obviously HER patients. She called in when off duty to check on them. She is who you want on your side when you're sick and afraid. She helped Mom and Mom's family through a tough time.
