Every time I work with Tim he excels at what he does. He smoothly juggles the demands of 4B while keeping his cool. A few weeks back, I walked into a room for a morning meet and greet to say hello to the patient. He was fresh post-op abdominal surgery and was on tele for atrial fibrillation. While helping move him from bed to chair his heart rate spike and stayed in the 240's. I had not realized this immediately as the patient looked clinically stable to the eye. Tim rushed back from the CN desk to the room with the COR cart and gathered more hands on deck. As a team we were able to call the team, lower his heart rate safely with IV meds, and ice to the face, draw labs, etc. and place new PIVs. Tim helped arrange and do all of this is a calm manner and additionally helped transport this patient to SICU afterward.
On a daily basis, Tim provides valuable direct feedback to his peers. He is open, honest, caring and a teacher at heart. If something needs to be addressed, he addresses it. One of the attributes that I admire about Tim is that he is quick to give praise. On a monthly (most likely weekly basis) I see him give kudos to someone (RN, CAN, ME, etc.) on 4b or float pool with Twinkles and Compassionate Care awards. I first met Tim while working with the Epic Team as a CT. While working with him there, I was witness to his character, leadership and nurse suave. He performed phenomenally as a CT during Epic rollout. As he has been with DH for 10+ years, he knows the intricacies of DH. This was evident and it served him well when he taught over 80 epic classes during rollout and during the next year. Outside of 4B, Tim is engaged with DH. He doesn't simply show up for a paycheck so to speak. He frequently will attend DH events or show up at a coworker's house who is in need of help.
