Todd Olson exhibits a high degree of professionalism by being an effective communicator and always anticipating the needs of his patients. He goes above and beyond to ensure his and all patient's needs are met and provides excellent care. He has been willing to pick up shifts r/t increase in census and increase number of admissions. It is not unusual for Todd pick up shifts or on-call time when there is a call in. He comes to work and gets the job done effectively. He remains positive and happy even when his day may not go as planned.
Two amazing things about Todd is you will never hear about his day if it does go bad. Second is he does it to truly help people. He does not expect praise for his caring nature. Todd is a team player. When the team's work load seems unmanageable, Todd will step outside of the box, problem solve, and exceed productivity expectations. He leads by example; his coworkers talk about his productivity and willingness to go above and beyond.
Todd is very passionate about his role as a hospice nurse. He acts as a mentor and enjoys teaching students about his work. He is always willing to precept students and teaches them the importance of end of life care and the impact Hospice has on patients and families. He is willing to learn new skills and is never intimidated by what may lie ahead of him. He is confident in the care he provides which in turn makes patients and family feel more confident.
When I saw the opportunity to nominate for the DAISY Award, I knew exactly who deserved it; Todd Olson! Professional, enthusiastic, supportive, productive, team player, and a mentor. I am proud to call him a coworker and feel he is an extreme asset to Ministry Home Care-Hospice.

Todd goes above and beyond every day for his patients and families. He is always positive and extremely compassionate. He took it upon himself to write a letter to the Green Bay Packers organization for one of his hospice patients. One of the patient's last wishes was to get to see some of the Packers. In response - the Packers were going to send him some memorabilia and a letter from Coach McCarthy. Todd truly cares about people. He has a huge heart and a true passion for the work we do. He lives by the mission of Ministry. He is an asset to our organization and we are truly blessed that he is part of our team.

Todd is always willing to help. He has picked up shifts when needed. He always comes to work with a smile. He is taking phone calls when needed - is not too busy to help anyone out. I hear nothing but good compliments from people over the phone when they discuss the "Nurse Todd".

He is always friendly, calm and never complains. He takes calls when he is out in the field, even when they aren't his patients. I feel he is very good at his job. Many patients call and say great things about Todd.
