Tracy has always been someone I have admired and have wanted to be like. For the many years we have worked together, I don't think there is anyone who is more compassionate and caring than she is. It doesn't matter how bad her day has been, with work or personal struggles, when she walks into a patient's room she is 100% focused on her patient and their family. She spends time with them. She really listens and gets to know them and understands their needs.
There was a day not so long ago that she was charging. The ICU was crazy busy and she was very busy helping other nurses and patients as the charge nurse would do. Then came not 1, but 2 very sick admits and no one else was available to take them. She got both patients within averyshort period of time, and was slammed trying to get them both taken care of and get their needs met. She stayed quite late making sure everything got done so that she didn't have to drop it onto another nurse. That's how she is. She puts her own time aside to make sure she doesn't leave others to finish her work no matter how long she has to stay after work. She is kind, compassionate, considerate, and helpful to everyone around her and especially to those she takes care of.

Tracy had a patient that had open heart surgery and his child wanted to visit him, but because the child was sick they couldn't come to the ICU. Tracy used her own personal phone so they could Facetime. She is an example of how every nurse should go above and beyond. She treats patients and staff with the respect they deserve.
***
Tracy is awesome as a nurse and a co-worker. She often helps other nurses without being asked and is happy to do so. Patients love her. I always see Tracy doing extra things for her patients and their family members. Her patients and their family members know that she really cares about them.

I have watched Tracy over the years in her care, concern, love, service, and attitude in the care of her patients. Tracy goes above and beyond to make the patient feel like they are important and loved, as if Tracy was a member of family and how they would want members of their family to care. She gives of herself freely. Not only does she help the patients, she tries to make it easy for staff who come in to do their jobs to do their part, helping to move equipment or whatever needs to be done. When I have gone in to do echos on a patient, Tracy was always asking how she could help. No matter what I asked, she always tried her hardest to make sure it was smooth sailing. Her great qualities and good humor makes everyone around her better and greater.
