On a Wednesday night, we entered the baby place in labor with our 2nd child. Tracy was on duty that day. Nurse Tracy made us comfortable and assured us that our baby would arrive in a matter of hours. The labor didn't go as expected and we experienced some extremely frightening symptoms (loss of the baby's heartbeat). We didn't know what was going to happen and we were very scared. Tracy took care of us every step of the way. Through frantic moments, she explained what was happening and assured us that everything was going to be okay. She made us her top priority.
Tracy's shift ended at 7 pm, instead of going home to her family, Tracy stayed by our side. We had over 10 family members in the waiting room and she kept them apprised of the labor to ease their mind. We were so grateful to have her with us. Her compassion and genuine concern didn't end there. At 1 am next day we needed an emergency C-section. Tracy gowned up, helped us understand what was about to happen, and never left our side. She was now working over 18 straight hours and remained with us until our son safely arrived.
As if that wasn't enough, she even took photos for us to capture this special moment. She personally walked out to the waiting room and gathered our entire family to see our son in the nursery window. You have a gem working for you. We will never forget the extraordinary work of Tracy.
