I would like to express appreciation on behalf of my family for the support that we received from Ms. Veronica Gordon during the time of need. I recently lost my husband at your hospital and she showed great consideration and diligence when discussing his medical care. With the constant rotation of ICU doctors it causes somewhat of a breakdown of communication between the patient’s family and the medical staff. This bridge was gapped when Ms. Gordon offered support.
She helped me comprehend the decisions that were facing me, and along with her medical experience, we received knowledgeable understanding. She helped me appreciate that although a patient’s health is important, the hospital also has a commitment to the family to help with the transition of losing a loved one. I was overjoyed to hear that more beds were soon to be added in the Palliative Care Unit, but it distressed me to find that few of the ICU doctors were aware of the continuity of information that could be gained from more collaboration between these two units.
