I came into the ED feeling horrible with a 103 degree temperature and what we later found to be mastitis. As soon as Victoria introduced herself, she made me feel secure and safe with her cool and collected demeanor. She kept me as comfortable as possible and helped calm me down because I was truly scared from the horrible pain.
Victoria is very empathetic. She stayed very aware of my pain and truly helped me manage it! I communicated the fact that I don't do well with narcotics and she advised me that I could decline morphine if that was what I really wanted. I felt confident that part was being taken care of with a medication I was not comfortable with.
Victoria impacted my stay at the hospital by how amazing she is overall at her job; going above and beyond to make not only me comfortable, but my mother as well. She also explained all of my options for my healthcare, which made me ultimately confident I was going to be alright!

Although relatively new to our ED, Victoria Marquez has become a well-respected asset to our family. From day one Vicky's professionalism and collegiality has been demonstrated through her excellent clinical knowledge and skills. Her co-workers admire her upbeat and outgoing personality as well as her ability to continually advocate for all of her patients. Vicky is a team player who works hard and seeks opportunities to help others in the department. On a daily basis Vicky demonstrates all five core values of Holy Cross: Respect, Compassion, Justice, Excellence, and Stewardship. Some of Vicky's co-workers have made the following comments: "she's amazing," "she's a speed demon," "I love working with her," and "Vicky's an excellent nurse."
As a charge nurse, Vicky is a prime example of the kind of nurse you want working on your team. As a co-worker, Vicky is the kind of nurse you want by your side. And as a patient, I am confident Vicky is exactly the kind of nurse who increases our patient satisfaction scores.
