My mother was admitted to Mars Hill Nursing Home in February 2017. She had dementia, diabetes, degenerative disc disease just to name a few of her ailments. My father had taken care of her at home for approx. 3 years until he could no longer manage her bouts of combativeness. She was basically total 24/7 care.
After arriving at AHC, Mom took some time getting used to her new environment. Wanda took Mom as one of her own and made my mother feel like AHA was her home. Wanda is an excellent nurse. She was right there every time my mom fell and in excruciating pain, needed her blood sugar brought back up, anything at all she was there.
Now after many months have passed my mother had come to the end of her battle and needed to be put on comfort care. Wanda was there to start the process and help our family feel at ease. She would explain all that was going on and make Mom feel happy and loved. Mom didn't pass for an entire 7 days was on a morphine pump.
Those were the worst 7 days our family has ever had to endure. Through the whole process, Wanda was there to make us smile, give us a laugh, and help us be more at ease. I don't feel that the nurses who make our elderly loved ones feel so loved, needed and special are thanked enough for their compassion and dedication to their profession. Thank you, Wanda White-Ouellette, for your caring compassion, empathy, and superior nursing skills.
