I was scheduled for a noon c-section but unexpectedly went into labor that morning at 6:15! After I was checked into L & D, Wendy was by my side and provided for every need (and I was pretty needy). In addition to administering my meds, she fanned me with a folder for at least ten minutes when I felt nauseated--my husband had stepped out to get a bite to eat--and she brought me a cold washcloth for my head. She prayed with me prior to my surgery, and it wasn't just a token, "God, please be with her," kind of prayer. She took her time and you could tell she genuinely meant every word. She held my hands as my spinal was being put in by the anesthesiologist, and was just as bubbly as could be after my daughter was delivered. She didn't know me prior to that morning, but by the end of the day I felt like she was family.
I was a bit high maintenance while I was in labor, and Wendy didn't seem put off by my requests. She did everything with love and care, even calling my doctor to ask questions while we were waiting.
Wendy knew just what to do every time I had a question or a need. She never hesitated to take action and was supportive and incredibly positive, especially when talking me through some difficult contractions.
I have a feeling that Wendy is a DAISY to all of her patients, day after day. I want Wendy to know that her care of me wasn't taken for granted and that she is an incredibly special lady who will always be a part of the story of my daughter's birth.
