Dear Will,
It is with great appreciation that I write this letter. The level of care you provided K was of the utmost quality. Your genuine care and concern for K was a great comfort to my husband and me, and we truly appreciate that you recognized both K's and my uncertainty about the healing process. I could see that the care following a surgery is so challenging for all. Your presence was comforting to both K and I. You acknowledged each of K's concerns and that allowed him to be confident that he would be better. Up until recently, K had not experienced many health issues. To see a healthy little boy, face a problem that as parents we could not fix, is quite scary.
I know you have helped many children like K and others facing much more difficult circumstances. I thank you for devoting your professional life to helping children. You possess not just the medical knowledge and skills necessary to treat your patients, you also know how to put them and their parents at ease. I have no doubt that K received the best care imaginable and I cannot be more thankful. You are an angel here on earth.

Will was the first nurse to recommend that we (parents) learn about the infinity pump and TPN (PICC line). It was a tremendous help to make us feel more comfortable with them. D would "light up" when Will was his nurse and they had a good connection which Will had fostered. Thank you, Will, for your help, love, compassion with D and our stay.

Will, you were the nicest nurse I have ever had. Thank you so, so, so much. Thank you for helping me get up and encouraging me.

I wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you about a nurse that I work with on 2 West and nominate him for the DAISY Award. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Will over the last few years. He is a conscientious, dependable nurse in a challenging position that requires flexibility multi-tasking, good judgment, problem-solving and priority decision-making. He is consistently recognized by families for providing high-quality care for the children, at least once a month and as many as three! Will is a tremendous asset to this organization and a pleasure to work with.
