My wife came in to deliver our 2nd child, in the same way our 1st was - an emergency C-section due to HELLP syndrome. In addition to the care of the 5-week early baby needs, my wife also needed close monitored and extensive care.
While all nurses on duty throughout were friendly, one just seemed to go beyond what was expected of both her position and knowledge, Yulia.
It seemed Yulia's main assignment was the mother. She expertly took care of my wife for her whole shift, constantly tending to her needs and doing everything in an extremely professional and knowledgeable way. Yulia's support and positivity were also constantly on display; always noting what was going well.
What was also very appreciated was her tone. She was very straight-forward, never over-explaining things and never making us feel like we didn't know what we were doing. She was factual, to the point, and we loved this.
We also loved her personal touch. We told her we didn't know where she was from, but we were glad she was in America. She then opened up about her life experiences to us: from her travel to America, her education, and her own experiences as a mother. It made us feel like we were in the presence of family.
But perhaps Yulia's best trait was her experience and knowledge of nursing. In L&D, she knew everything and more about caring for my wife. But she was also trained as a lactation specialist. She was able to do the work of 2 nurses for us! I know she also had much other training and certifications, and if we needed them, she would have been there to help with a steady, knowledgeable, experienced, personal guiding touch.
Thank you, Yulia!
