What pleasantly surprised me the most was that Yahaira learned sign language to be able to translate what my dad wanted to tell me.
I am very grateful to nurse Yahaira for taking care of my father. All nurses, especially her, try to encourage my dad as much as possible despite his critical condition, she writes nice messages on a blackboard in the room, treats him very well, and always has everything under control keeping his medication schedules in order. She is very professional and good at everything she does, especially in an area as critical as the ICU. All the nurses are excellent, but she did something that made her stand out from others, she is always empathetic, professional, and very attentive to my father. One day during her shift my father wanted to see me and talk to me, she took the time to help him make a video call. It may not seem like much but it is not as simple as it seems since my father cannot speak and he communicates through sign language. What pleasantly surprised me the most was that she learned sign language to be able to translate what my dad wanted to tell me, not any nurse performs this type of action and for that, I am very grateful to her. She always treats him like family and I think that is very important since we must always treat others as we would like to be treated. My father is slowly recovering from his condition, the staff of the hospital can´t give us an exact prognosis yet, because of this he sometimes seems down and a little depressed, but I thank his nurses for keeping an eye on him and doing their best to lift his spirit and keep us up to date. Thank you, Yahaira, for taking care of my father with so much love!
