ACCESSING TEMPLATES
- When you click on the link for any of our Canva templates, you will be directed to Canva’s website and see a screen like this:
- Click on the purple button to access the template.
- If you have a Canva account, you will be prompted to log in. If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create one. The free account is all you need to be able to access and edit the template. A paid account is not necessary.
EDITING TEMPLATES
Once you have logged in, you will have access to edit the template, download the design, and have the option to order prints. Here are a few quick tips for editing- there are many, many more options online: https://www.canva.com/designschool/tutorials/
- To upload an image, such as your logo or a QR code, click on the “Uploads” tab on the left side of the screen. Click the purple “Upload files button” to add your images. We encourage you to use your own photos instead of our stock images when possible.
- To change what image or text is on top of one another, click on the item and then click “position” at the top of your screen. You can move the item backward and forward with the buttons or select the layers tab and drag them backward or forward.
- You can edit the transparency of a photo to make the text on top of it easier to read. Select the photo and then the fading checkerboard Icon at the top of the screen.
- You can add a border to any image by selecting the icon of three lines of different thicknesses and then choosing the weight (how thick you want the border). You can also change the border's color by clicking on the circle next to it.
- You can rotate text and images by clicking on the entire item. A circle made from two arrows will then appear. Use that to rotate.

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THROUGH YOUR ENTIRE TEMPLATE TO BE SURE YOU DIDN’T MISS ANY INFORMATION YOU NEED TO INSERT BEFORE YOU PRINT.
DOWNLOADING TEMPLATES
- You can download any of the templates in various forms by clicking the share button (upper right-hand corner) and then the download button. From there, you can select which file type you would like (such as a PDF that is best for printing), image, etc. You are welcome to print however works best for you.
PRINTING THROUGH CANVA
- Canva has affordable print options if you wish to use them. All the templates were designed to be ready for printing after you add your QR code or other nomination information. Click on the purple “print with Canva” at the top of the screen and make your selections. Please note: some Canva prints come with envelopes if you do not uncheck the envelope box in cases where you do not want them.
