Over the past year, the 1 East Nursing Unit received over 30 beautiful letters from patients and families, thanking the staff for the outstanding care that they received.

One was from a daughter who thanked the staff for the excellent care of her mom, but she also mentioned how the staff made the family feel welcomed and comfortable as well.

The next letter was from a patient who starts by acknowledging the great attitudes of all the staff. She stated that they should be told how great they are and that they should be rewarded! She goes on to say that everyone she met seemed to really enjoy their work.

Another letter named 8 staff members, 4 of them RNs. This gentleman describes the 1 East staff as courteous and caring. He says that he will recommend this hospital to anyone who needs hospitalization.

In an additional letter, the patient states that the nurses made her feel comfortable and safe. She referred to them as an extraordinary team and excellent human beings. She ends the letter with, “I will always remember you ladies.”

There were recurring themes of going above and beyond, working tirelessly, being knowledgeable and skilled, having hearts of gold, being non-judgmental and supportive, and so many other qualities of what a 1East nurse is and how they practice.
