Celebrating the best caring nurses at Baptist Hospital in Plant City. Here is my list for the prestigious DAISY Award to the nurses that spread happiness, hope, and comfort in their care to me:

There she was brushing my hair with her infectious laugh and with many other splendid ways about her It is no wonder her in-laws love her so much. What an asset for the nurse's team at So. Baptist Hospital and to me a patient there. For many reasons, I believe she is a DAISY Nurse. Everyone knows her by her laugh.

Then there was nurse David who was so kind to me cheerfully cleaning up the messes. I used to sell cruises and he was going on his first cruise. I hope they put the evening mint upon his pillow and served him well as he served me.

Then there is Allisson P.C.T. Cape Machie R.N. whose statement I agree with, “prayer works”. She was awesome, and so inspiring.

The faith of many was an inspiration to me. One nurse, Anna was so gracious and kind to me offering help in any way I needed her. Her heartfelt care deeply affected me.

Then there is Blossom who is in training having to help me with the bedpan or potty chair. These jobs are not easy but I am thankful to her for her help to me.

Maria and Talia were a tremendous help in caring for me and asked them to write their names down and they did in the black magic marker on 2 different squares. Great nurses!

Karen Britts wrote on my napkin “You are awesome.” As I told her this for herself and that is how encouraging she responded the same words back to me.

Sherri L. Elkins, BSN, RN ended up giving me her card as she wrote on the back of it a necklace design that she had in gold that I have as heart-shaped with a cross in the middle. She lost her original necklace with a cross in the heart. I admired the new one she was wearing. This is what her excellence in character and service to me sharing her heart. What pleasure and joy she brings. Her kindness, and opening her heart to me was comforting.

These two ladies are not nurses but went the extra mile for me. One is Andrea who helped me get the cane and walker and who knew me from years ago helping me train for my job. What a wonderful person and helping hand to me. What a great surprise to meet her again.

Katlyn from the pharmacy worked so hard for me regarding y prescriptions so want to express my gratitude for all her efforts to me and even when I was out of the hospital with the medications. She is such an exceptional employee.

There is another I would like to give credit and great honor to and that is Doctor Scott Yagger who is your hospital doctor. I was astounded speaking with him, his discernment, and sharing. He is a huge beacon of LIGHT in your hospital, a source of light or inspiration. I see a beacon as a person who shines his light, and I in turn, inspires, guides, and bring hope to others. I couldn’t write a letter long enough to express the praise, gratitude, and admiration I have for him! I will remember his kind words forever, his warm, genuine Holy Spirit wrapped around my heart.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matt. 5:14-16. Psalm 68:5 tells us, “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.”

What a marvelous wonderful group! With the nurse shortages and the extra stress that is placed on everyone, just want them to be encouraged to keep on working even when tired. Don’t quit, don’t give up. It is my prayer for God who gives strength and will strengthen each one of them in the wonderful Name of JESUS CHRIST who has healed me!

I tried to keep track of the wonderful nurses having kept notes. I do not know the full names of all the nurses but their attitudes, kindness, help, and knowledge, made my stay a dynamic experience.

One of God’s benefits is healing. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all you diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagles. (Psa 103:1-5 NKJV)

Thank you for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
