If I ever had to be a patient or any member of my family would, and I had a choice, I would want my “Dream Team” – Josh Sylvester, Kennedi Walden, Kim Fontenot & Jennifer Chapman. “The 10 Star Crew”, because 5 stars is just not enough.
I first want to say “Thank you” to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a whole.
Josh Sylvester saved my son’s life with his compassion and persistence when others seemed to give up on him in the ICU. I prayed and God sent His Son through Josh at 7:00 one morning. From the time I laid eyes on him until his shift was over, he treated my son as though he was his brother. He explained to me and my son what he was doing and why he was doing it. My son was not always alert, but he talked to him every time he had anything to do for him. Lourdes is fortunate to have Josh. He not only cared for my son in the ICU as a nurse, but he also did his dialysis a few times. He is not only knowledgeable but passionate and compassionate about his work.
Kennedi Walden – the respiratory therapist won my heart. She went above and beyond with a smile. Her dedication to her patients and to making sure every patient gets the care they need and deserve has been impressive. I don't think it is possible to say how much you are appreciated by the patients and their families who need your help.
Kim Fontenot was the first to give my son his dialysis treatment and she met us with the most pleasant smile and personality. She explained everything to me, and I felt at ease. She talked to him as if were alert, which is what is supposed to be done.
Josh, Kennedi & Kim talked to my son every time they provided care for him.
Jennifer Chapman – I just have to commend her as a charge nurse, because she backed up her staff many times. If they were occupied with another patient or anything else, she happily helped them out. I witnessed this many times. But the one time she stood out was when my son was being taken to the 2nd floor for a procedure. My son had to be accompanied by a nurse, but his nurse was on the phone with something very important, and Jen said “I’ll go with him. After being in the ICU from July 31 until Aug. 25, 2024, my son was moved to another room. That Monday, August 26, Jennifer came to check on my son and me.
