Last August, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma. I was referred to one of the best doctors here at Jefferson. I spent every 3 weeks here receiving my treatment on 3 West; the first week, I spent a full week, and the following week, I spent 4 days here. During that time, I met some of the most Extraordinary Nurses. The care I received here in the past 14 months has been remarkable. I now consider a large number of these nurses my family. They have helped me through some really tough times and helped to understand what I was going through, they held my hand and wiped my tears through my rough days and sat with me when I needed someone to talk to. They truly are the most amazing nurses I have ever met. I have spent 18 years at the Torresdale campus working as a certified nursing assistant, and I have worked and learned so much from some amazing nurses, but when the tables are turned, and you are lying in that bed, things are different. I just wanted to let you know how wonderful your staff members are. I know it’s easy to write and complain, and most times, great things are left unsaid, so I wanted to take the time to let you know how wonderful they truly are. They made each hospital stay much easier for me.

Even now, thinking back, certain names and moments stand out vividly in my memory. Michell, for instance, had this infectious giggle that could be heard at 3 a.m., and it never failed to bring a smile to my face. Gabbie was simply unbeatable in her kindness and care—truly the best.

Shelia was another cornerstone of my experience. Her support was unwavering, and she had this unique ability to make every meal feel complete. She is, without a doubt, one of the best people I've met. My conversations with Francesca about her heritage were enriching, and they're something I'll deeply miss.

Marissa always had time to chat, and she made me feel like I wasn't just another face in the crowd but a true friend. Ellen's combination of caring nature and professionalism makes me confident that she has a bright future ahead of her.

Then there's Ching, who, no matter where she was assigned, always found a way to pop in, say hi, and check on me. Claire is another person I'll always hold dear; she was a friend who always had time for a hug or a laugh, making each day a little brighter.

Alysha consistently made my stay comfortable. Her presence was a comfort in itself, and she'll always have a special place in my heart. I'll also miss my talks with Christie about her ongoing home projects. I hope to see how it all turns out someday.

Last but certainly not least, Justine is what every nurse aspires to be. I owe her so much and am forever grateful for everything she did for me.
I'll miss each and every one of these incredible individuals. Their compassion, warmth, and skill made my time not just bearable but genuinely better.
