Amanda McCormick and her team have done an amazing job of working on a Pilot project with San Jacinto College Central and their associate degree Nursing Program. The pilot is an opportunity for 6 students to do all their clinical rotations on the same unit throughout their nursing program and to work closely with the same preceptors each semester. There are 2-3 clinical rotations that require support from other units either in the facility or within MHHS. The goal of the Dedicated Clinical Unit: The student nurses will learn the throughput of the hospital, work with the same staff, and build clinical confidence and skills, and "fit" into the care team and culture. This program will decrease the nursing culture shock and prepare them for the "job reality" after graduation. The 3B team has teamed closely with the education team and the clinical faculty at the college to make this experience remarkable for the students. They have two cohorts on the units and have had rave reviews of the impact from the staff, students, instructors, and patients. Thank you, 3B, for being extraordinary and willing to shape the future of nursing clinicals! You are brave and unafraid to carve a new pathway for students to transform into nursing professionals. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our profession.
Thank you for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
