5 south is not just a unit, it is home. As soon as I walk on the unit I am immediately greeted with smiling, welcoming faces. The nurses not only take great care of the patients, but they also take great care of me. The nurses are highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable, and compassionate. I have worked with the nurses on 5 south for just about 7 years now. As a new PA, I would always go to five south for help or advice on situations even if a patient wasn’t on that unit. The nurses have always been there for me with open arms and a willingness to help.

You can just tell how much the nurses on 5 south genuinely love what they do because it shows through their enthusiasm to educate others in a way that makes them feel accomplished and competent. I have witnessed when one nurse has had a difficult time or emergency, the rest of the nurses quickly jump to their aid. They demonstrate truly what it means to be a team.

The 5 south nurses deserve all the recognition for being exceptional nurses and a group that I, and many others, look up to as truly compassionate people and team with a love for what they do. All the staff are helpful, caring, kind, and have hearts of gold.

The entire team is really great. My mom says they above and beyond for their patients. Even when I was here on 5 south visiting my mom each day I could see the care and genuine concern the staff have for their patients.
