The team worked cohesively to gather documents and a reflection of the AACN National & prestigious BEACON Excellence award. 7s3 is the only one of 7 in Texas division hospital units with the Beacon Award. The unit reflects a positive & healthy working environment. The team displays teamwork, camaraderie, and high-quality outcomes. The team leads 100% compliance in Med titration compliance, Zero prevalence HAPI study, and excellent quality metrics with very low turnover - only losing 2 staff (1 to retirement & 1 to NP job) The team also displays high MD & RN relations in the last Culture survey. The team has a sunshine committee that celebrates birthdays/ plans gathering as a way to celebrate nurses, staff is participating in community efforts such as the TEAM 7s3 Houston chevron Marathon, CN is engaging the new GNS to be certified, - there was a unit certified nurses day celebration and celebrated with shirts. The team has a TEAM HAPI - and the team designed shirts for the skin champions to wear every Tissue Tuesday and has a rotation schedule to do skin surveys. The staff break room refresh project is also led by a GN who was a recipient of the DAISY Award this year. She is decorating the breakroom and getting the room painted with the paint of choice through a survey. Overall, this team in 7s3 is highly engaged, very much deserving of the DAISY Team Award.
