9North has a patient on the floor that has been there for 400+ days. He is Chinese and has no family. 9North has taken him in as their family. They have put a Christmas tree in his room, brought him presents on Christmas and his birthday (which happens to be Christmas). They put him in a geri-chair and take him around the hospital, take him outside when whether permits, bring his favorite foods, tailor his food menu to his liking to encourage him to eat, cut his hair and nails to help keep him well groomed, use google translator to speak with him because he only speaks Chinese and have taught him words to help him communicate with others.

The list of going above and beyond continues....In the midst of all these extras, they have provided excellent care to him. He has not fallen, had a hospital acquired pressure ulcer (even though he is bedridden), or had any hospital acquired infections.
