JB made me feel that when we went home for the night he would look after my father like family
My father had been battling dementia for about six years. He suddenly had some physical changes that required hospitalization for almost a month. With changes in my father's condition, hospice was an option and we decided to follow his goals of care and make him comfortable. JB was the night nurse who took care of my father for what became my father's last days. No matter how many patients he had, JB made us feel as if my father was the only one. He took the time to talk to us, educate us, and listen to our concerns. JB advocated for us by communicating with the providers to make sure my father was receiving the care and pain management he needed to make him comfortable. I was very impressed with JB’s bedside manner, it was very pleasant, kind, and had the right amount of confidence and he always washed his hands. JB made me feel that when we went home for the night he would look after my father like family. I am grateful for the care JB provided, it made this very challenging experience a little easier.
