You are my person in an emergency; you are everyone's.
Every time I work with you, I feel a sense of relief. I know my patients will be in the best hands possible if I call on you. And when I do call you, you arrive calm, prepared, and ready to command the room. You immediately address our patients with kindness and compassion, and I watch as worry (in a potentially terrifying moment) melts off their faces. Your knowledge and skill are unparalleled, and you bring and apply them every time you assess a patient and situation. You bring a calm that others don't. Sometimes I just need someone to brainstorm with and you allow for that without condescension. You offer your time, your skill, and your compassion. You are always willing to debrief after an emergency and provide reassurance and education. I would offer an example, but there are just too many of them. I have needed you time and time again, and these aforementioned qualities have not wavered. You are reliable and consistent, and I believe I embody everything the DAISY Award signifies. Thank you for being here. You are an exceptional Nurse, the calm in the chaos, and I am so grateful to be able to call you my co-worker.
