Aaron stayed late on a Friday night to help the house supervisor with patient care/service recovery. There was a patient who did not have labs drawn due to being a difficult stick. This was not brought to our attention until after 6 pm. I attempted without success, plus the patient’s IV hurt so we were going to switch it out. IV team did not show up to the patient’s room. Mother is a physician and was super upset. We talked them down but with it being so late, resources for IV access were slim. Aaron agreed to stay later after his shift to place a guided IV. The patient and family were very appreciative, and I’m thankful for Aaron’s expert skillset and willingness to stay late and go above and beyond for our patients.
