Aaron was compassionate, engaged, comforting, reassuring, and always willing to speak with me without ever making me feel like I was hovering over him.
Unfortunately, my family has experienced many visits and admissions over the past couple of months and although our experience has always been good- this admission was worth writing about because of SC and Aaron Smith, RN.
From the moment I found out that he was being admitted to 14W I felt reassured. SC is a phenomenal leader who demonstrates compassion and genuine interest in his staff and patients. I have always enjoyed partnering with SC on work-related things but this week he was more than a colleague to me- he was a friend, support, and a force of comfort.
Aaron was assigned to my grandfather for the entire stay (if I am not mistaken). Aaron was a complete angel! He was compassionate, engaged, comforting, reassuring, and always willing to speak with me without ever making me feel like I was hovering over him. He advocated for my grandpa, listened to my concerns and those of my family, and developed a real relationship with my grandpa over the last few days.
My grandfather enjoyed his company and you could tell Aarons's comments and actions were genuine. To be honest, my experience with Nursing was the highlight of the entire admission (which had several frustrating moments). My grandpa was discharged today- after a long day and Aaron remained by his side the entire time supporting my grandpa and grandma.
