Abbey Childress, RN

Abbey is a wonderful shift coordinator and fellow co-worker. Despite all the adversities we face daily, like short-staffing and busy cases, Abbey is one to lean on. She works extra hard to make sure all the staff feel supported during the good and bad times. She works endlessly to keep our unit flowing. I could not think of a better leader in our department than Abbey to receive this award. She takes the time to listen to us and shows compassion and respect. She comes in to work with a smiling face daily and shows positivity throughout the day. She speaks to patients, families, and coworkers with kindness. A wonderful example of a nurse who enhances the image of nursing. She is well deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award; she keeps our unit running!
