Abbey is a competent, caring, and compassionate nursing educator
Abbey has been described as an extraordinary faculty member who possesses a Christ-centered, academic commitment to developing students in character, leadership, and scholarship. Abbey is known for being a role model for professional nursing with a “relationship-based” approach that values the individual, heart, and character of the student beyond performance and letter grades. Students and colleagues agree Abbey is a competent, caring, and compassionate nursing educator as evidenced by her teaching strategies, going above and beyond to ensure students understand challenging topics and materials and pushing students to improve while maintaining value and respect. Abbey is an assistant professor in the pre-licensure nursing program and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from IWU. Abbey holds a certification as a nurse educator from the National League for Nursing and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Abbey's love of nursing and education has brought her many personal and professional blessings and thrilled to be serving the students of IWU! Abbey currently teaches Nursing Care of Children, Fundamentals of Nursing, and Nutrition. Abbey's clinical expertise includes 12 years as a neonatal intensive care nurse and time spent in mother-baby care.
